We recognize the importance of language, and its impact on inclusivity and identity erasure. We acknowledge how our organizational name re-enforces the gender binary and fails to honour Trans, non-binary and gender diverse identities and we are actively advocating for change. We welcome mentors and mentees who are 2SLGBTQIA+, and we are proud to have 2SLGBTQIA+ staff leading our ! AM initiative – developing intentional and inclusive programs for mentees and mentors of the community.
BBBST currently offers two programs in community and in school to serve mentees in our 2SLGBTQIA+ community!
We’ll be at Church Street Public School on Saturday, June 27th and Sunday, June 28th from 10AM to 5PM as part of Pride Toronto’s Family Pride celebrations.
This year’s Pride theme is “We Won’t Stop.” At BBBST, that means advocating for every young person and celebrating all identities, all voices, and all families. We’re proud to be part of a community that represents freedom, inclusion, and recognition.
